Farrow & Ball
The Musée Rodin would like to thank its partner Farrow & Ball for the colour enhancement of the renovated rooms of the museum.
Farrow & Ball, partner of the Musée Rodin
The Musée Rodin is proud to count the English company Farrow & Ball, manufacturer of traditional paints and wallpapers since 1946, among its most loyal partners. Since 2007, Farrow & Ball has supported the institution by supplying the necessary paint for the decoration of the temporary exhibition room.

Farrow & Ball has joined forces with the Musée Rodin as part of the renovation work programme for the Hôtel Biron. More than 5,000 m² will be repainted in a range of chosen colours. Prior to the colour selection, investigations were carried out across the entire building to rediscover the paints used since the construction of the mansion in the 18th century. The samples taken from the walls notably revealed vibrant colours, dazzling reds and greens.
Colours of the Hôtel Biron
|Blue Grey 91||Slipper Satin 2004||Biron Gray||Joa's White||Lime White|
The choice of the new colours took into account several factors:
- The historical dimension: the choice of green in certain rooms particularly evokes the history of the building.
- The final museum itinerary: the works are enhanced thanks to the alliance of colours, materials and lighting (the combination of brown and bronze, for example).
- The orientation of the rooms: depending on the light, the tints can vary and are more or less dense.
Showcasing the Hôtel Biron
The expertise of the Farrow & Ball colourists has enabled the teams at the Musée Rodin to better understand the final choice of colours, which has to meet a twofold objective: showcase the Hôtel Biron while conserving its historic character, and enhance the presentation of the works. The reopening of the renovated wing of the Hôtel Biron is an opportunity to discover the first completed rooms. The Musée Rodin would like to thank its partner Farrow & Ball for the colour enhancement of its rooms.
