Marble breathes, lives, and gets worn with time. Help us restore the works for #givingtuesday
The Kiss, masterpiece of our collections and beloved international icon, as well as the rest of the marble sculptures of the musée Rodin, will get a makeover thanks to your support. Before the 1st of January 2023, to celebrate the international solidarity day, help us preserve this rich heritage.

Restoration and conservation of the marble sculptures at the musée Rodin
Air pollution, inquisitive hands and fine dust lead to the marble getting dirty. As this stone is especially porous, it is essential to clean it approximately every 5 years. The conservators proceed by applying strips soaked in an aquous solution. The strips sit for several hours and absorb the dirt, covered with a plastic bag that keeps the moisture in. After a few hours, the strips are removed. The remaining dirt is removed with a dampened wadded stick.
