Visit the sets of the Dior haute couture show

An installation by artist Faith Ringgold

Until Sunday 30 June, the sets from the prestigious Dior haute couture show, which took place in the sculpture garden during Paris Fashion Week, are accessible to visitors with a museum admission ticket.

“You can’t sit around and wait for somebody to say who you are. You need to write it and paint it and do it.”
- Faith Ringgold

Artist, feminist, activist, and educator, Faith Ringgold (passed away on April 12, 2024, at the age of 93) challenged and questioned perceptions of African American identity and gender inequality for almost seven decades. The scenography of the Dior haute couture autumn-winter 2024-2025 show features paintings from some of Ringgold’s most emblematic series: Freedom Woman Now and Woman Free Yourself (Political Posters), Windows of the Wedding #1: Woman, as well as recreations of her Civic Center L.A. Subway Commission that are a tribute to the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024. At the heart of the creative dialogue between Maria Grazia Chiuri and Faith Ringgold is the fundamental theme of female empowerment.

This week's visit to the museum promises to blur the boundaries between the arts of couture and sculpture. Don't miss out on this unique event.
