Welcome to hell evening
Ticket sales open
For our english-speaking audiences, please bare in mind that all activities are led in French, although you can still make the most of the wonderfully gloomy atmosphere and staging of the evening !
On Thursday 31 October, don your scariest costumes and get ready for a night of mystery at Musée Rodin. After the success of the first edition, this evening event plunges you into the tormented world of The Gates of Hell. As the sculptor of all human passions, Rodin reminds us that beauty and terror can coexist in the same work. A unique opportunity to (re)discover the collections through the prism of night, shadows and terror.
The In⸱visible Bodies exhibition will be running at night on this occasion.

ON SHOW
The songs of THE GATES OF HELL
Theatrical performance
The Gates of Hell occupies a special place in Rodin's creative output. Inspired by Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy, the sculptor created over two hundred figures and groups, forming a pool from which he drew throughout his career... An actor invites you to discover some of the songs from Dante's major work in a performance illuminated in front of the Gates of Hell. Performed by La Petite Main.
Every 10 minutes from 7pm to 10.45pm | Meet in front of La Porte de l'Enfer
‘Revealing shadows’ at the Marble Gallery
Group silver photography workshop
Rodin's marbles are among the most famous pieces in the museum's collection, with the greatest models on display in the Galerie des Marbres. Inspired by the shapes and stories in Rodin's work and in the Galerie des Marbres, explore the practice of silver photography, between light and shadow. Designed and led by photographer and visual artist Alexandra Serrano.
Continuously from 7pm to 10.30pm | Meet in front of the Galerie des Marbres | Subject to availability
The dark undergrowth
immersive EXPERIENCE
The only way to reach the ninth circle of the Underworld is through the undergrowth. Observe the sculptures by moonlight and lantern light, but beware: the path is full of traps and guarded by two evil crows. Hosted by La Petite Main.
Continuous from 7pm to 10.30pm | Meet in front of the entrance to the undergrowth
‘The Tartar rumblings’ at the Bassin d'Ugolin
DANSE Performance
The ninth and final circle of Hell contains humans who have committed the worst treasons and the worst sins. They have found refuge on the edge of the sculpture garden, in the heart of Ugolin's Basin. Keep your eyes peeled for every detail of this grotesque dance of desperate souls. Created and performed by the UNITY company.
Every 15 minutes from 7pm to 10.30pm | Cross the undergrowth to get to the Bassin d'Ugolin
Murmurs, spirits and tales from the Hôtel Biron
Storytelling performance
Throughout his life, Rodin reinterpreted certain figures originally designed for La Porte de l'Enfer and gave them a new lease of life. Let yourself be carried away by the voices of the Hôtel Biron and discover all their passions: from tormented love to raging madness, torment and desire. Created and narrated by La Compagnie des Épices.
Continuous from 7pm to 10.30pm | Meet in the collection rooms at the Hôtel Biron
